Emotional Regulation, Mindfulness and Psychological Well-being in University Students Grading 1 st Year

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to characterize a sample of students grading their first year of the University of La Serena according to the psychological variables of emotional regulation, psychological well-being and mindfulness in university students grading their first year. The sample is composed by 314 participants, selected for convenience sampling and were applied the scales Desregulation Emotional, Psychological Well-being of Ryff and Five Facets of Mindfulness (versions adapted to Chile). The results show that there are differences according to school of origin, expectations of success and meditative practices. Besides, 17% of students are at risk at the psychological level. Finally, the correlations between the variables studied were significant (medium strong correlations).
