Lifestyle and alcohol consumption in young university students

Abstract

The objective was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and alcohol consumption in young university students. A descriptive correlational study was carried out in 280 university students from the Health Sciences area of a Public University of Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche. The Identification of Disorders Due to Alcohol Consumption Questionnaire and the Lifestyle Profile Questionnaire were used. As findings, it is highlighted that 36.2% present an alcohol-dependent consumption and lifestyle was negatively related to alcohol consumption (rs = -.192, p = .015), as well as with the interpersonal and self-support subscales. upgrade. So, it is necessary to direct multidisciplinary actions in this age group that allow behavior modification, contributing to the improvement of their health.
