Coping with Stress and Psychological Well-Being in collaborators of a municipality of Cusco
Abstract
The collaborators of the municipalities in Peru, due to the work they perform, are exposed to face stressful situations, and evidence peculiar characteristics in psychological well-being. Therefore, the objective was to relate the coping with stress and psychological well-being in the collaborators of the district municipality of Wanchaq, Cusco 2020. The methodology used was of a quantitative approach and a non-experimental - cross-sectional design. For the study,102 collaborators were considered as a sample (MA=80.6; DS=48.9; 60.7% were male and 39.2%women), who were administered two instruments: The Peruvian adaptation of Peña in 2017, from COPE (Coping Estimation test), prepared by Carver and his collaborators in North America, and, Garcia’s Peruvian adaptation in 2018, of the Bieps - A (Psychological Well-being Scale) developed by Casullo. Finally, a low and very significant positive relationship was established between coping with stress and the psychological well-being (p <.01 and a Rho: .287 **). “Problem-centered” and “emotion-focused” coping styles were related to psychological well-being, on the other hand, “the avoidant style” reports no significant relationship.
