Dependency on the use of cell phones in university students in the city of Morelia

Abstract

The present descriptive, cross-sectional research, simple random probability sample of 60 students had 0.88 Cronbach's Alpha in the preliminary results, these were obtained from the "Mobile Dependency Test" Chóliz Villanueva (2011), descriptive
statistics were used . 43.3% of the participants are 20 years old, 78.33% are women, 95% are single. There is low abstinence, with respect to abuse and difficulty in controlling impulse, an average level was obtained, represented by 50% of the participants, a minimum score in dimension III of problems caused by excessive use and, finally, 25% of those affected. are in the medium tolerance range. It is necessary to continue investigating the characterization of mobile use in university students and strengthen research with qualitative approaches that allow us to delve further into the representations that students have regarding the use of cell phones.
