COVID 19 and its Impact on Drug use: Systematic Review
Abstract
COVID-19 worldwide, measures such as social isolation and quarantine were adopted to mitigate and contain the spread of the virus. However, these measures also caused alterations in the lives of people at a personal, family and social level, which can cause alterations in mental health and this promote drug consumption. The literature on this phenomenon is scarce, for this reason a systematic review was carried out with the aim of identifying the impact of COVID19 on drug consumption in the population. The results showed that there is an increase in mental health problems, as well as a decrease in social networks. The vulnerable population was also identified, the need to treat people with addiction during the pandemic and some challenges in the health system were identified.
