Abstract

The main objective of this article is to synthesize the scientific evidence on resilience in children of alcoholic parents. An integrative review was carried out based on the methodology proposed by Dal Sasso Mendes in PubMed, NCBI, BioMedCentral, Wiley Online Library, PubMedCentral, CONRICyT, SciELO, Web of Science, Latindex, Redalyc.org, ELSEVIER, AmeliCA, Dialnet, review of qualitative literature and mixed studies published between March 2015 to April 2020, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Six studies were included, which define resilience as the abilities or personality characteristics of the individual that allow him to adapt successfully to adverse circumstances in his life. There is little qualitative evidence on resilience in second childhood, in children of alcoholic parents, so it is valuable to enrich this line of research in this age group.
