Nursing educational intervention was applied in 90 minutes sessions, 1  day a week, for 9 weeks. Intolerance to uncertainty was evaluated before and after the intervention with the scale of intolerance to uncertainty (UI). Risk ratio was calculated, z for two proportions and value of p. The intervention group had 27 members and the comparison group 25 members, term to the intervention was found that in the intervention group 7 members (25.93%) showed low intolerance to uncertainty, obtaining Z for two proportions = 2.19, p = 0.029 and risk ratio = 6.48; The nursing educational intervention was effective in reducing intolerance to uncertainty in the elderly.
