Abstract

The following is a qualitative single case study of therapeutic nature with continuous evaluation proposed with a non-reversal design. The patient is a 21 year-old woman who came to the Psychological Care Center asking for psychotherapy; she was diagnosed with agoraphobia. In the evaluation and intervention phases, diverse resistances were found, against the work for the reason for consultation, therefore it was opted to use art-therapeutic techniques of Torres (2005) and Guerron (2015) with the aim of decreasing these resistances. In conclusion, it was observed that these techniques worked as promoters of self-knowledge and perception of internal control, having significant impact in decreasing resistances to confrontation and change within the therapeutic process.
