Attitude and perceived barriers to contraceptive behavior
Abstract
Introduction: Within the Sustainable Development Goals, number three, aims to guarantee universal access to sexual and reproductive health services, reducing the global maternal mortality rate. For this, it is necessary to study the diversity of variables that positively or negatively influence people's contraceptive behavior, among which attitude and perception of barriers are included for this study. Aim: To determine the effect of the attitude of the person of reproductive age on the perception of barriers to contraceptive behavior. Methodology: This research is quantitative, descriptive, correlational and analytical. The sampling is simple random until reaching a sample of 600 people between 18 and 25 years old. Results: It was confirmed by means of a logistic regression model that, for each favorable point of contraceptive attitude, the perception of barriers to AC decreases as well as for each additional year of schooling. Conclusions: The contraceptive attitude has a protective effect on the perception of barriers to contraceptive behavior. Health professionals must include these variables in planning interventions in this area.
