Abstract

In Brazil, the increase in the number of suicide attempts has occurred sharply among young people and the elderly. In this context, the objective of this article is to identify suicide prevention experiences developed in Brazil. For this purpose, a search was made on google
scholar, VHL and Scielo with the keywords "prevention" AND "suicide" and ten experiences were identified, which can be grouped as (a) university extension experiences whose actions involve workshops, courses and lectures aimed at students, teachers and public education
managers, for professionals linked to primary health care; (b) research and experiences of public services aimed at assisting people who attempted suicide and articulation of the health network with intersectoral articulation. There was a predominance of isolated actions,
developed with the participation of Brazilian university students and extension workers, without the characteristic of intersectoral articulation for the care of this complex condition.
