Objective: The purpose of the study was to describe the changes perceived by 37 people (32 women and 5 men, between 40 and 84 years old) with type 2 diabetes after practicing Chi Kung (Qi Gong) for three months in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. Method: Qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, conducting semi-structured interviews and observational recording. Results: A general perception of improvement in physical health was found when describing greater vitality and well-being, as well as fewer symptoms; Positive changes also emerged in the emotional, social, and spiritual areas. Conclusions: The incorporation of Chi Kung into pharmacological treatment protocols can reduce costs to the health system and positively affect the overall health of people with type 2 diabetes.
