Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of a self-managed online course based on the methodology of expected learning on: quality of life and adherence to treatment in people living with HIV, in a group of psychology students. 93 university students participated on it. They´ve completed an online course on the Moodle platform, divided into four modules, each with a diagnostic evaluation, self- evaluation and final evaluation; at the end of the course the students responded to a course evaluation concerning their learning experience. The results show that students increased the percentage of correct answers in two of the four modules; it was also found that the experience of the course is generally adequate, although there are also areas of opportunity to improve it. Discussion is around the importance of showing evidence of the effectiveness of self-management online courses in university students.
